We work in close partnership with parents to ensure the best possible care and support for each child to realise their full potential. Parents are the main educators of their children and we aim to support parents in the challenging role of caring for their children through sharing our experience and offering informal advice on subjects such as potty training and through parent workshops on subjects such as understanding the Early Years Foundation Stage. 

Parents are welcome to join in at any time during sessions and we hold regular events such as Sports Day and Concerts to ensure all the family has an opportunity to be involved in the Pre School experiences of their child.

We have an open door policy and parents are always welcome to speak to their child’s key person or the manager at any point

We also hold Parent Consultations once a term. We believe that parents know their children best and we ask them to contribute to assessment by sharing information about what their children like to do at home and how they as parents are supporting their child’s development.

Parents are encouraged to share any worries or concerns and celebrate achievements with us. We involve parents in deciding how to move children on to the next stage of their individual learning journey.

We use a secure online system called Tapestry to record photos and observations of children during their time at Pre School.

Parents and family members can also upload photographs and comments. This is a great way of sharing information about the children’s progress between ourselves and families alongside creating a lasting keepsake of children’s time at Pre School.

How we inform parents and carers about what is happening in the setting.

Newsletters

Key information is sent out via Tapestry (Memo section) and WhatsApp as required. Paper copies are also sent out at times, generally where a response is required such as permission for outings.

Activity Highlights

Each week we will post information onto Tapestry and via WhatsApp about our curriculum plans for the week – this supports parents and carers to understand what we are promoting in Pre School and provide complimentary activities at home if they wish. We make suggestions as to how parents can support their children to help build on learning opportunities.

Facebook

Our face book page, run by Paula, is a useful way of keeping up to date with information and sharing tips with other parents and carers. If you would like to join please make a request via Facebook however please kindly note that it is only accessible to Linden Leas parents and carers.
